Grieg concert

concert hall

Every day at 1:00 p.m., a pianist plays a half-hour concert of Edvard Grieg’s music at Troldhuagen, the composer’s home on the outskirts of Bergen, Norway. Through the concert hall window one sees the hut where Grieg composed his music and a fjord beyond that.

Pianist Christian Grovlen performed on the day we visited. You can see the program he played here: Christian Grovlen program.

Before he played ”To Spring” he said, “Grieg is describing the arrival of spring, but there is a hint of Norwegian cold.”
